Samsung Electronics on February 14 launched a new feature phones series of "REX" in New Delhi, India, to strengthen its influence in emerging markets. The four new models are presented REX 90, REX 80, REX 70, and REX 60 with the specifications of the touch screen 2.8-inch to 3.5-inch and camera of 1.3-inch to 3.2-inch.
REX series touchscreen phone has been adjusted to give users access to a variety of unique features that have been developed to enhance the needs and lifestyles of their everyday affordable prices. This strategy is not the first time, having previously been applying Samsung feature phone series Star, Corby and low-end smartphones such as the bada Wave Family (Wave 525, 533, 575, 723, 578, Wave Y and Wave M).
Although the REX has no specific operating system such as Android or bada, but users can download apps and games from the Samsung Apps store, themes and widgets for the TouchWiz UI, browse the internet through Opera Mini and messaging services through Chaton. Samsung said it plans to expand marketing to Russia, Africa and South America, without giving exact schedule.
